Refund & Cancellation Policy

We want every Powerten installation to be the last battery backup you ever buy. If something isn’t right, this policy explains exactly what we will do. For the broader terms governing your purchase, see our Terms of Service.
1. Consultation deposit
Book-a-consultation is free. We do not charge a visit fee. If we ask for a booking amount to block an installation slot, that amount is 100% refundable up to 72 hours before the scheduled installation date.
2. Cancellation before installation
- Before dispatch: you may cancel a confirmed order for any reason. We will refund 100% of amounts paid, less actual payment-gateway charges (typically 1.5–2%).
- After dispatch but before installation: you may cancel; we will refund the product amount after the unit returns to our warehouse in sellable condition. Reverse-logistics cost (typically ₹ 3,500–₹ 8,000 depending on city and size) will be deducted from the refund.
3. After installation — the 30-day peace-of-mind window
If, within 30 days of successful installation and commissioning, Powerten does not perform as specified on the product page and we are unable to fix it within 14 days of a reported fault, you may request a full return. In that case we will:
- De-install the system at no cost and restore your existing inverter/battery wiring to its prior state.
- Refund 100% of the product price. Installation labour, wiring materials consumed, and civil works are non-refundable.
4. Beyond 30 days — warranty, not returns
After the 30-day window, faults are addressed under the Powerten warranty (10 years on the battery for capacity retention above 70%; 5 years on the inverter). Remedies under warranty are repair, component replacement, or at our option a replacement unit — not a monetary refund.
5. Swayam (software upgrade)
Swayam is a one-time software upgrade tied to your Raksha hardware. A 7-day money-back guarantee applies from the date the upgrade is activated in your Powerten app, provided that no more than 10 kWh of grid export has been recorded under the Swayam profile. After 7 days, the Swayam licence is non-refundable.
6. How to request a cancellation or refund
- Email info@powerten.in with subject “Refund request — <Order ID>” and the reason.
- A Powerten specialist will confirm eligibility within 2 business days and share a return-authorisation number (if applicable).
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of the unit being received or cancellation being approved. Bank processing adds another 2–5 business days.
7. What is not refundable
- Installation labour after work has commenced on-site.
- Wiring, conduits, mounts, and consumables installed at your premises.
- Third-party costs (scaffolding, electrical approvals, RWA permissions, DISCOM processing fees).
- Damage from unauthorised modification, misuse, acts of God, or exclusions listed in the warranty card.
8. Disputes
If you are not satisfied with the resolution, you may escalate to our Grievance Officer (see Privacy Policy section 10). Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
